Parkinson disease (PD) is a worldwide spread neurodegenerative disorder. Dopamine replacement therapy is currently the mainstream treatment, which can alleviate the symptoms but induces motor complications. Electroacupuncture (EA) is beneficial for PD as an alternative medicine. However, few reliable clinical trials or objective systematic reviews are available to give a verdict on the effectiveness of EA in the treatment of PD. Thus, we evaluate the evidence for EA in PD patients by conducting this meta-analysis. PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Scientific and Technology Journal database, WanFang Digital Periodicals, and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (SinoMed) will be systematically searched for evidence by 2 authors individually. The analysis will be conducted by RevMan 5.3 software according to Cochrane Handbook. The efficacy and safety of EA for PD will be comprehensively assessed from the outcomes, including the effectiveness rate, scores of Unified Parkinson Disease Rating Scale, and Webster scale, superoxide dismutase, lipid peroxides, and dopamine content. This systematic review will provide evidence for whether EA can treatment PD. PROSPERO CRD42019120956. PROSPERO CRD42019120956. Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) is a chronic systemic vasculitis characterized by necrotizing granulomatous vasculitis. The disease mainly affects the middle and small blood vessels and mainly occurs in the upper respiratory tract (nose and paranasal sinuses), lower respiratory tract (lungs), and kidneys. Disease occurrence in the eyelid area is relatively rare. The standard GPA treatment is combination therapy with adrenocortical hormone and immunosuppressants. Radiotherapy as a treatment option for GPA has not been widely investigated. A 29-year-old man presented with a 1.0 × 1.0 cm mass without exophthalmos and decreased vision in the left lower eyelid. Computed tomography revealed a mass-like high-density shadow below the left eye with a computed tomography value of 80-108 U. The laboratory investigations revealed positive cytoplasmic antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (titer = 140). Biopsy of the lower left eyelid mass revealed necrosis and granulomatous reaction with a large number of in this case study is that for GPA patients, when the standard treatment model fails to achieve good results, novel treatments such as radiotherapy should be considered according to the situation. Previous publications studied the correction about folate intake and ovarian cancer risk, with inconsistent results. This meta-analysis aimed to explore the association between folate intake and ovarian cancer risk using the existing published articles. We searched for relevant studies in electronic databases of PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane, and Wanfang databases from inception to May 31, 2020. The overall relative risk (RR) and its 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) were pooled using a random-effect model. A total of 12 articles with 6304 ovarian cancer cases were suitable for the inclusion criteria. The evaluated of the ovarian cancer risk with total folate intake and dietary folate intake were reported in 6 articles and 10 articles, respectively. Overall, highest category of dietary folate intake compared with lowest category had nonsignificant association on the risk of ovarian cancer (RR = 0.90, 95% CI = 0.77-1.06). The association was not significant between total folate intake and ovarian cancer risk (RR = 1.06, 95% CI = 0.89-1.27). The results in subgroup analyses by study design and geographic location were not changed either in dietary folate intake analysis or in total folate intake analysis. Our meta-analysis demonstrates that folate intake had no significant association on the risk of ovarian cancer. Study design and geographic location were not associated with ovarian cancer while some other related factors were not investigated due to the limited information provided in each included study. Therefore, further studies are needed to verify our results. Our meta-analysis demonstrates that folate intake had no significant association on the risk of ovarian cancer. Hypoxia, an important driving force of angiogenesis, plays an important role in this process. However, few studies have investigated the fabrication of hypoxia-simulating biomaterials for dental applications. In this study, a novel hypoxia-mimicking, multi-walled carbon nanotubes/cobalt (MWCNTs/Co) nanocomposite was prepared using the metal-organic framework (MOF) route for the in situ insertion of MWCNTs into Co3O4 polyhedra. The obtained nanocomposites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Cobalt ion release of MWCNTs/Co was analyzed in vitro. Cell viability and proliferation were assessed by culturing stem cells from apical papilla (SCAP) with MWCNTs/Co nanocomposites. The angiogenic capacity of SCAP after exposure to nanocomposites was evaluated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), western blotting and the Matrigel angiogenesis assay. Our results proved that the synthesized MWCNTs/Co nanocomposites possessed a well-designed connecting structure and could release cobalt ions in a sustained way. The MWCNTs/Co nanocomposites at 50 μg/mL significantly upregulated hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) protein expression in SCAP, with no apparent cellular cytotoxicity. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/trastuzumab.html The conditioned medium collected from SCAP treated with MWCNTs/Co markedly promoted endothelial cells vessel formation. In conclusion, hypoxia-mimicking MWCNTs/Co nanocomposites exhibit promising angiogenic potential for dental tissue engineering and might provide an alternative solution for translational applications.
