Peri-implantitis is widely recognized as a major cause of late implant failure, both in pristine and regenerated bone. The present study aims to evaluate the prevalence of peri-implantitis in implants inserted in augmented maxillary sinuses and to analyze possible risk factors. A cross-sectional study was conducted in four centers including patients who underwent lateral or transcrestal sinus augmentation and received dental implants. Clinical and anamnestic data were collected using a standardized form. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses have been performed for both implant-level and patient-level variables. Subsequently, a multilevel logistic mixed-effect model was built to analyze variables correlated with the occurrence of peri-implantitis. A total of 156 patients (61 males and 95 females; mean age 60.9 ± 11.6 years) with 315 implants inserted into augmented maxillary sinuses with a follow-up ranging from 1 to 18 years were evaluated. Seven implants in seven patients were previrisk factors for peri-implantitis.  The POSE-2 procedure shortens and narrows the stomach using multiple full-thickness plications in the gastric body. We studied the efficacy and safety of POSE-2 for obesity at 1 year in a real-world setting.  We reviewed the records of 75 patients who underwent POSE-2 at our unit. The primary outcome was percentage total body weight loss (%TBWL) at 1 year. Secondary outcomes were safety and durability. We used linear mixed model analysis.  46 patients completed 1 year. Mean age and body mass index (BMI) were 49.3 years (standard deviation [SD] 10.2) and 38.2 kg/m (SD 6.6), respectively. Technical success rate was 98.7 % (n = 74). Mean TBWL, %TBWL, and BMI decline at 1 year were 20 kg (SD 12.7), 17.8 % (SD 9.5), 7 kg/m (SD 4.3). Adverse events occurred in four patients. The median length of stay was 1 day. Endoscopy at 1 year in 15 patients showed intact sutures and a reduction in gastric length compared with baseline (26.9 cm [SD 5.3] vs. 35.7 cm [SD 3.5];  < 0.001).  POSE-2 induced significant weight loss at 1 year. It appears to be safe, durable, and required only a short hospital stay.  POSE-2 induced significant weight loss at 1 year. It appears to be safe, durable, and required only a short hospital stay. Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) is associated with an increased risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes in mothers and infants. The aim was to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of biochemical detection of ICP by ROC curve and to determine the threshold of more reliable experimental indicators. 305 patients and 305 healthy pregnant women were enrolled in the study. The average levels of TBA, ALT, and AST in the ICP group were much higher than those in the control group (P<0. 001); the area of both CG and TBA under ROC curve was up to 0.99, the sensitivity was 97.7%, and the specificity was 99.3%. This study did not find any single specificity and sensitivity markers that could be used to reliably diagnose ICP. In the future, we will pay more attention to the correlation between sensitive biochemical indicators and adverse pregnancy outcomes. The effect of non pharmacological interventions (NPIs) during an epidemic disease outbreak is well accepted dating back to historical events. NPIs involve numerous measurements like hygiene rules or contact restriction that are applied during given situations, while so far only limited quantitative data exist to rate the overall effectiveness. Using the official counts of Robert Koch Institute in Berlin/Germany, press reports and Twitter messages, the early phase of the current COVID-19/Sars-CoV2 in Bavaria is being reconstructed. The first cases have been observed in Munich by the end of January 2020. While the initial outbreak could be sufficiently covered using isolation and quarantine measurements, the consecutive early spreading falls into three phases, starting with winter school holidays at the end of February, a number of beer festivals in the following week, and general elections on March, 15. The disaster plan on March, 16 indicates the end of the early phase. Using the official case counts, a rather coherent picture evolves although representative epidemiological studies are still missing. The epidemic started with a few cases during the winter holidays, increased exponentially afterwards including significant more cases by beer festivals and another significant excess of cases following the election that occurred in Bavaria only. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/3-aminobenzamide.html Compared to other German countries, Bavaria reached the highest prevalence which could not be reversed by even the most restrictive containment measurements. To be effective, NPIs need to applied early, if possible even before the beginning of the exponential phase. Therefore, it is of particular importance to learn and to train these competencies. A method which was developed specially for this purpose is the Alliance-Focused Training (AFT). Seven psychotherapy trainees participated in the AFT. In semi-structured interviews pre- and post-AFT, they were asked about their expectations from and experiences with the training. The transcriptions of the interviews were analyzed using the Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR) method. Before the AFT, participants showed ambivalent attitudes and fears mainly towards self-revelation. After the training, they mainly described personal development and progress in learning to deal with alliance ruptures. Video recordings of therapy sessions, role plays and training of metacommunikation skills were experienced as being helpful and practice related. The results indicate that the AFT has a great potential for improving competencies of psychotherapists.
