There were no complications related to surgery during the follow-up period. Surgery plays an important role in management of duodenal obstruction due to a gallstone, especially a large and impacted stone. Radical one-stage surgery is one of the feasible, safe, and efficient procedures in selected patients. Radical one-stage surgery is one of the feasible, safe, and efficient procedures in selected patients.A 68-year-old man with senile cataract underwent femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS) in his left eye. Only anterior capsulotomy and lens fragmentation were planned with a femtosecond laser. Docking of the patient interface and anterior capsulotomy were completed without any complications. During the lens fragmentation process, the patient could not resist the temptation to squeeze his eyes shut, which caused excessive pressure from the eyelids. As the procedure proceeded, a bubble was formed at the edge of the patient interface and became increasingly larger. In addition, wrinkles in the conjunctiva were observed. As the lens fragmentation was approaching the final stage, the surgeon was reluctant to release the foot pedal to stop the laser emission. Finally, the patient interface lost adhesion to the cornea. Owing to the high repetition rate of the laser, the laser beam slipped into the corneal layers. Under an operating microscope, a grid-pattern laser beam trace was observed in the peripheral part of the cornea. As posterior capsule rupture occurred during the lens removal process, IOL insertion was no longer a suitable option. Therefore, scleral fixation of the implanted intraocular lens was performed without any unexpected events. One year postoperatively, the laser beam trace in the corneal layers could still be identified by slit-lamp examination. Nonetheless, since the laser beam trace was limited to the peripheral part of the cornea, and there was no damage to the central cornea, the visual acuity was 20/20. FLACS has significant benefits, especially in challenging cases of cataract surgery, and has well-established built-in safeguards for complications. However, this case study indicates the possibility of a suction break during laser emission and the preoperative risk factors. It demonstrates that recognizing the signs of suction break is necessary to avoid misplacement of the laser beam on the corneal layers.[This retracts the article DOI 10.2147/IJWH.S117850.]. While accumulated evidence has shown that the prevalence of cannabis use among pregnant women in the US has increased in recent years, little is known about the specific subpopulations affected. The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence and correlates of the perceived risk of weekly cannabis use, past 30-day cannabis use, and frequency of past 30-day cannabis use among US pregnant women. We analyzed data from 2,247 pregnant women 14 to 44 years of age surveyed in the 2015 to 2017 cross-sectional National Survey on Drug Use and Health. Analyses account for the sampling design. Primary outcomes included perceived risk of weekly cannabis use, past 30-day cannabis use, and frequency of cannabis use. We conducted multivariable logistic and negative binomial regression models to assess the associations between the primary outcomes and multiple correlates. Among US pregnant women, 21.6% (95% CI=19.4, 23.8) did not perceive any risk associated with weekly cannabis use, 5.3% (95% CI=4.2, 6.5) used canol increased the odds of cannabis use among pregnant women. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/rgd-arg-gly-asp-peptides.html As cannabis legalization spreads and cannabis use is increasingly perceived as safe, there is a growing need for research to determine the reasons why women in the identified at-risk subgroups are using cannabis during pregnancy. Since the emergence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as a major worldwide health threat, countries have implemented preventative measures to limit the spread of the disease and reduce the strain on their health services. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is one of the countries where relatively strict lockdown measures were enforced. This study aims to evaluate the impact of the lockdown circumstances in Jordan on antenatal care services and health circumstances of pregnant women during this period. This study involved a cross-sectional survey of Jordanian women who are currently pregnant. An electronic survey was distributed among pregnant women in Jordan. A total of 944 completed responses were returned and analyzed. The sample size was statistically determined to be representative of the population. The results revealed a significant increase in the percentage of pregnant women not receiving antenatal care from 4% to 59.53% (p<0.001) during the lockdown period, despite the fact that some of thts, which has the potential to cause antenatal health issues that are not directly related to the spread of COVID-19, but rather are a side effect of the way in which the outbreak is managed. Human immunodeficiency virus infection has been one of the top health-related challenges for the past four decades. Ethiopia is extremely infected by HIV pandemic every year, whereby 22,300 people were newly infected and 690,000 were living with HIV at the end of 2018. Sexual behavior of HIV positive individuals visiting treatment clinics is a neglected issue. Nonetheless, it has been a significant way of HIV transmission to serodiscordant partners. A facility-based cross-sectional study design was used on a sample of 432 women attending treatment clinics in west Oromia from February 26 to March 26, 2019. Systematic sampling was used to select the study participants. A pretested and structured interviewer-administered questionnaires were used to collect the data. The data were coded, entered, cleaned and exported to SPSS version 20.0 for analysis. Descriptive statistics were used to present frequency distributions. Variables with P-value <0.25 during bivariate analysis were entered into multiple logistic regression models to control for all possible confounders. Odds ratio along with 95% CI were estimated to measure the strength of the association. Level of statistical significance was declared at a p-value less than 0.05. Out of total respondents, 240 (56.9%), 95% CI (52.1-61.6%) were involved in risky sexual practices in the prior 12 months. Urban residence [AOR 3.24, (95% CI (1.52, 6.89)], those with no formal education [AOR 2.77, (95% CI (1.18, 6.54)], being on ART for >2years [AOR 2.74, (95% CI (1.13, 6.65)] and CD4 count ≥200 cells/mm [AOR 3.20, (95% CI (1.50, 6.82)] were factors significantly associated with risky sexual practice. A considerable number of respondents were involved in risky sexual practices 240 (56.9%) due to being rural residence, not attending formal education, being on ART for >2 years and CD4 count ≥200 cells/mm . 2 years and CD4 count ≥200 cells/mm3.
