This sensor is situated on the outside of the transmission just above the flywheel gear. It sends a signal to the ECU via the grey wire (T55/49) and then to the tachometer in the instrument cluster. 1. Engine Speed Sensor The sensor is located at the edge of the transmission, above the flywheel ring gear G28 Engine Speed Sensor sends signals to ECU pin T55/49 via a grey wire. The ECU uses this information to control fuel and boost. It also sends an indicator to the G5 Tachometer within the instrument cluster. The sensor serves as a reference to correlate with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu must be aware when the crankshaft is TDC and where the camshaft is so it can start spark and injectors accordingly. If this sensor fails to function, the ECU will display an error code P00160. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of line with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of an issue with the chain or a jumped chain link in the upper timing chain. However, the error code won't be displayed on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40). It can be a bit difficult to test because there are several pins on the connector, and each one has different functions. The most effective method to test it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. When the sensor is operational, it should read around 1000 ohms. Examine for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you have issues with this component. 2. Injectors Yesterday, while accelerating from the highway paytoll at maximum speed I noticed a significant decrease in power. It was as if the engine was running out of gas. Or my injectors weren't firing. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs, th
